A Capitol Welcome For De Vere

Leading UK hoteliers De Vere has commenced work on building a new 109 bedroom hotel and leisure club at the front of Capitol Park West by the A650.

It is estimated that the new hotel will create up to 250 full and part time jobs providing state-of-the-art leisure facilities, café bar, pub, restaurant conferencing and banqueting facilities for the Morley community.

Martin Croxen, the chief executive of Sterling Capitol, the company that is developing the 55-acre, £100 million business park, commented: “It is fantastic news that this rapidly expanding hotel and leisure brand has chosen Morley for its next development. This is a resounding endorsement of Capitol Park and is an important piece in our jigsaw.

“The new hotel would provide wonderful leisure facilities for other occupiers at Capitol Park, as well as for the community of Morley. It will act as a beacon to attract other investment to the park – and to Morley itself. It will greatly enhance job creation in the area,” he said.

Nick Howard, the development manager for De Vere Group plc, commented: “Following the success of the Village Hotel and Leisure Club, Headingley, we carefully identified Capitol Park as a strategic location for the continued growth of our brand. What we intend to bring to Morley is a unique concept that provides. an unrivalled mix of quality accommodation, outstanding leisure facilities, café bar, pub and restaurant. In addition to this, the ‘Village’ will be an exceptional venue for meetings, conferences and banqueting.

Martin Croxen added: “We believe that Capitol Park has been one of the great business park success stories in Yorkshire in recent years and it has proved, time and time again, that a quality environment and a quality location will attract quality occupiers. The prospect of a Village Hotel & Leisure Club here is the latest chapter in this success story – and there are many more chapters to come. Watch this space”.
